  • To configure FreePPP:
    1. Locate the FreePPP folder.
    2. Click on FreePPP Setup. The FreePPP Setup window displays.
    3. Click on the blue triangle in the lower left-hand corner of the screen so it points downward, and configure the settings as indicated below.
    GENERAL
    1. Place a check in Allow Application to open Connection.
    2. Place a check in Disconnect if idle for more than
      (10) minutes.
    3. Place a check in Check line state when connected.

    ACCOUNTS

    Click on the New... button. You will have 3 tabs here:

  • ACCOUNT
  • DIALUP
  • OPTIONS

    We will only be working with the Account and Dialup tabs.

    In the Account tab, do the following:
    1. Type in Awesomenet in the Account name: field.
    2. Connect Directly should be selected.
    3. Type your username in the User name: field.
    4. Type your password in the Password: field.


    In the Dialup tab, do the following:
    1. Leave the Area code: field blank, and type in Awesomenet's
      local dialup number in the Phone number: field.
    If your area requires 10-digit dialing, check the box labeled Dial area code.

    You will not want to change anything in the Options tab.

  • Click OK to return to the Accounts tab.

    LOCATIONS
    You will not want to change anything here.


    MODEMS
    1. Select your modem in the left column, and click Edit.
    2. You can rename your modem to a more appropriate name in the Modem config name: field.
    3. Ensure that the Connected To box says modem port.
    4. Port Speed: should be set closest to your physical modem speed.
    5. Flow Control. Modems with speeds of 28.8 and above should be set to CTS & RTS (DTR)
      If your modem is slower than 28.8, you should select None.
    6. Check Speaker enabled.
    7. Check hangup on disconnect.
    8. Select auto detect init string.



    9. Click OK.
